Submission Period

Participants can send their entries starting on June 18, 2024, until September 6, 2024, at 5:00 PM. It’s crucial to adhere to this timeline to ensure that your entry is considered for the contest.

Prizes

The winning group or individual will receive a plaque and a cash prize amounting to Php 200,000.00. This prize is not just a testament to your musical prowess but also an acknowledgment of your contribution to the DMW.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Entry Restrictions: Only one (1) entry is allowed per songwriter or a team of songwriters (composer/s and lyricist/s). Ensure that your best work represents you in the competition.
  2. Original Composition: The entry must be an original composition. It should be 2-3 minutes long and written in Filipino. This ensures that the hymn truly resonates with the Filipino spirit and culture.
  3. Theme and Content: Since the winning entry will be the official hymn of the Department, your submitted composition should reflect the Department’s mandate, mission, vision, core values, and tagline – Ang Tahanan ng OFW. This thematic consistency is critical for your entry to be considered.

Required Documents and Formats

When submitting your entry, it should be sent in a sealed legal brown envelope and include the following:

  • Duly accomplished entry form: Make sure to fill out the entry form completely and accurately. A photocopy of a valid ID of the songwriter/team of songwriters should be included for verification purposes.
  • Musical Piece on a CD: The musical piece should be in .m4a, .mp3, .wav, or other audio file formats. The CD should contain two tracks:
  • 1st track: The actual entry with full accompaniment.
  • 2nd track: The minus one (instrumental) version.
  • Lyrics of the Musical Composition: A written copy of the lyrics should be included for reference.

Mail or hand-carry all the aforementioned requirements on or before 5:00 PM, September 6, 2024, to:

Additional Notes

  • Participation Certificate: All participants will receive a certificate of participation, acknowledging their effort and contribution to the contest.
