The Philippine government continues to strengthen its support for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) with the official opening of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Bangkok, Thailand. This new office, the 43rd MWO office worldwide, began operations on October 6, 2025, serves as a resource for the approximately 40,000 Filipinos currently employed in the country.

The MWO-Bangkok acts as the local extension of the Philippine Department of Migrant Workers (DMW). Its primary mission is to implement national labor policies, protect the rights of Filipino workers, and promote their overall welfare and interests in Thailand. As an attached agency of the Philippine Embassy, it operates under the One-Country-Team approach to provide unified and comprehensive assistance.

Note: Before setting up this office in BKK, the MWO office closest to this country was based in MWO in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. That is why it’s great that they launched this new MWO-Bangkok office, so that Pinoys in this country can easily visit the branch and access the available services.
